3 Signs It Is Definitely Time For A Visit

There are some symptoms that aren’t really confusing when it comes to deciding whether they’re worthy of a dental visit. For instance, if you have a serious toothache, you know that you’re going to need to come in. If your gums are bleeding, you know it’s time for a checkup! However, what about other signs like the kind that seem they may require a visit or that you may be able to just ignore? Consider a few examples that will remind you: When in doubt, a visit is always the smart choice.

#1: Persistent Bad Breath

If you have bad breath but it goes away, then you don’t need to worry. You’ve figured it out (or you happened to have eaten something awfully smelly). However, if you have yucky breath that persists, as in nothing you do actually makes it go away, then it’s time to come on in to see our friendly team for a dental visit. Anything from decay to infection or dry mouth can contribute. We can help!

#2: A Color Change

If your tissues change color, then you need a dental visit. You might notice that your tooth looks darker. You may see that your pink gums are suddenly red or purple. We are here to make things better!

#3: A Sensation Shift (That Isn’t Good)

If you notice that your mouth suddenly feels wonderful, then we will most certainly love to hear about it during your next visit but you don’t need to call us in a panic to share this change! Enjoy it. However, if something that seems weird, uncomfortable, painful, unpleasant, or negative in any way occurs, it’s best to come in for a dental visit. We may find something and treat it or we may explain that you’re A-OK and why this is happening. It’s better to come in just in case.
