This Saturday, January 25th, 2020, the Auburn Hills Public Library is hosting some exciting events. Neither are more than an hour and a half long, ensuring that you have plenty of time to browse the shelves, take care of errands, spend time with your family and friends, and anything else your Saturday might hold. Best of all, the events are totally free!
The Lunar New Year Party
From 11 AM until 12 PM in the Activity Room and Community Room at the Auburn Hills Public Library, there will be a Lunar New Year Party to ring in the Chinese New Year: the Year of the Rat! The event is open to children ages three to ten years old, and it will feature crafts, snacks, games, and a countdown at the end to celebrate the new year. Space is limited, so registration is required. You can register online for up to eight children at a time.
Holocaust Survivor Irene Mills Shares Her Story
From 1 PM until 2:30 PM, Holocaust survivor, author, educator, and speaker Irene Mills will be in the Community Room at the Auburn Hills Public Library as a part of their author series. She will take everyone on a survival journey with her courageous stories about sleeping under an open sky in the winter in No Man’s Land, Siberian bears, boiled grass, and orphanages. Her book, Into No Man’s Land: A Historical Memoir, will be available at a discounted rate of $15 at the program. Registration is required, and you can register online for up to eight people at a time.
