What should you expect to deal with when you have a lost tooth? The immediate impact can be an increased self-consciousness about your smile. However, other problems can develop over time. You can have a harder time when you try to eat certain foods, and you may even find it impacting how you speak. A deterioration of the jawbone can occur, because the roots of teeth provide stimulation that helps send nutrients to your jaw. If you are after a means of addressing this range of issues, a dental implant can be an ideal solution. An implant-supported replacement tooth can eliminate functional issues, and restore your appearance. It can also help address jawbone deterioration, something other dental prosthetic options are not able to help with. (more…)
How A Dental Implant Keeps A Replacement Tooth In Place
Stability matters when it comes to your replacement tooth. In order to use your prosthetic as if it were a regular tooth, it needs to be strong enough to take on the pressures placed on it, and firmly set enough to keep its position. You can enjoy a stable dental prosthetic that does not interfere with neighboring teeth by receiving a dental implant. A dental implant is fitted into your jawbone directly, and the bone will actually fuse to it over the course of healing. (more…)

The Link Between Dental Implants And Jaw Health
Tooth loss can certainly affect your smile, and it can alter how you eat, speak, and chew your food. What you might not be aware of is how it can affect the health of your jawbone. Normally, your jawbone is stimulated by the roots of teeth, and that stimulation calls for the delivery of nutrients, to keep the bone healthy. However, when a tooth root is gone, the surrounding bone can deteriorate. What is unique about using a dental implant to support a prosthetic is that the implant actually addresses this problem. While other prosthetic types do not help take care of your jaw, the implant can take away the risk of deterioration. (more…)

The Role Dental Crowns Play In Cavity Restoration
Once a cavity forms on your tooth, it is time for a trip to the dentist. While your enamel has some capacity for recovery when a tooth takes on damage, a cavity is more than your natural defenses can fix. A restorative dental treatment can remove decay, and make sure your tooth can function after treatment. The measures your dentist must take to fix your tooth after a cavity will depend on its size – the longer you wait for treatment, the more time your cavity has to grow. A dental crown can enable your dentist to protect your tooth after serious decay has occurred. (more…)
